Being one of the 100 most influential Women by the Minneapolis Saint Paul Magazine, Patricia Simmons has a long labor and research trajectory that makes her a leader in pediatric and adolescent medicine.
Born in Minnesota, Simmons is a physician and professor in the Department of Pediatric and Adolescent medicine at the Mayo Medical School, where she also completed her residency and fellowship at the School of Medicine.
She has been president of the North American Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, among other regional and national leadership roles. Being one of the most experienced professionals at the Mayo Clinic, she is currently the Executive Medical Director of Health Policy on of this important medical establishment.
Dr. Simmons, who received a bachelor’s degree from Carleton College, magna cum laude, and a medical doctorate from the University of Chicago, is actively involved in her community as a frequent author and lecturer in her field.
