She studied Journalism at Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano and Law at Catholic University of Colombia, with a diploma in conflict resolution at Universidad de los Andes. She has worked as a journalist in radio, newspaper and television. She was deputy editor of the Political Section of newspaper El Tiempo and coordinated peace unit of this journal. She also worked on El Tiempo television channel, as head of broadcast. She was Director of news at Canal Capital. She worked as Communications Coordinator of the Area of Human Development and the Department of Peace, of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). She is the recipient of awards from the Association of Journalists of Bogota, the Simon Bolivar and Latin American Award for Children. Since November 2013 Bibiana works in Semana magazine and serves as editor of Reconciliación Colombia project.
